Daishizen no Majuu Bagi
The 7th special animated program for a 24-hour broadcast program is set up neither in space nor in the future, but in the present. Moreover, a special technique is used to improve the story's reality; the story synchronizes with actual time, as in the old "A Duel at Midday" or the recent "Nick of Time." There is no guest appearance of Tezuka Osamu's popular characters as before. Here, Tezuka Osamu concentrates on depicting a "crisis of the present." Tezuka Osamu's zeal is apparent in his participation in nine roles, including original plan, story line, rendition, character design, animation director, original pictures, motion pictures and color design. The "present crisis" involves the gene recombination crisis. This film was produced in 1984, when the Japanese government formally approved gene recombination experiments.

an amazing movie...they were going to make a sequel "Bagi,boss of the world" in 1989 but the director and creator of bagi died...hasnt been released...

Ohh, that's a sad story, to die when everybody is waiting for your creation, the same happened to the creator of shin chan ^^!

The best anime movie I ever seen.It's sad thet they could not relese "Bagi,boss of the world" movie.

well he also made Astroboy in 2009-2010 (cant remember) and that was re-made i hope that they will "find" Bagi and decide to create its sequel without being total bullsh*t like most sequels are now-adays. it was the first anime (or movie for that matter) that I actually got mad at everyone for the sad ending. xP hope some company will pick it back up.
